Yay!! It's time for the Palmer Clan Monthly Blog FHE!! Isn't that so WONDERFUL?!?! And Mom even beat me to the punch this month ...

It's a talk from October 2002 by F. Melvin Hammond of the Seventy. (He was just recently made temple president of the DC Temple, and we've heard him speak 2 or 3 times in the last few months.) The talk is called "Dad, are you awake?" and it apparently is something that has stuck with Adam all this time because he refers to it frequently. It talks specifically about how fathers should be spiritual leaders, and treat their wives and children with love and respect. This is a good thing, and I don't believe that anyone in our family has a problem with abuse or anything like that. But it's still a good talk in that I think it can apply to everyone in how we set an example for children, particularly Brooke and Bryan and Stevie and Summer (of course, and any other siblings/cousins they get). We can be spiritual leaders by how we behave around them, and how we treat other people in general (not just family members, although family members are the most important).
