the next update

Summer's one-month birthday was yesterday - we started off by taking her to the doctor to be weighed. She's now 8 pounds 9 ounces. Just over the course of the last week, her growing has really taken off. I can tell she's bigger than she was a few days ago just from looking at her and/or picking her up. Since we were downtown anyway for a 5-minute doctor appointment (that's literally all it was), I took her to my office to show her around. My friend Nadia was very excited to see her. And we went over to Adam's office for lunch and hanging out a little bit. Adam was able to leave early because it was Friday, so we waited for him and all came home together.

Around dinner time, Adam's sister Clara and her husband Tim got here to visit for a few days. They needed to return their rental car, so we all went to drop it off and then went to the monuments. Summer was getting tired so we went to only 3. We'll go to some more tonight and tomorrow evening. Today, Clara and Tim took our car out to Mt. Vernon. We're not sure what we're going to do with them the rest of the time we're here - we'll take it one day at a time. They leave Tuesday afternoon.
