Summer and Rosemary's Top Ten

As a jolly New Year's post, I have compiled the following for Summer's personal history / journal / scrapbook / baby book / whatever we're calling it these days.

SUMMER'S TOP TEN

1 - Favorite Movie: Mary Poppins, referred to as "Pops" and in the last week, "Popsy." She gets VERY excited at the scene where Mary Poppins flies in with her umbrella - she jumps up and points at the TV (and sometimes runs to it), squealing "Pops!!"

2 - Favorite toy: Mr. Potato Head. And Mrs. Potato Head. And Darth Vader Potato Head. We've had Darth Vader for awhile. She's been playing with him so much recently that we got her the other 2 for Christmas.

3 - Favorite food: just before Christmas, it was Clementine oranges. Now it's apples or carrots.

4 - Favorite activity: looking at pictures on the computer, particularly of Baby Joshua. She can even kind of say Joshua's name - it sounds like "Cha-cha" and is pretty much the same as saying Elijah, one of her playgroup pals. She likes other babies as well, like her own pictures and Rosemary's. But there's just something about Joshua for her.

5 - Favorite book: The Three Little Pigs. You have seen Mindy's video on youtube of Adam reading it to her. Thank you, Mindy, for preserving that!

6 - Favorite song: The Wheels on the Bus. She can do all the actions to it. This is also a recipient of her new "ee" addition to words. She requests the song by saying "Bus" and spinning her arms for the wheel action. In the last week or so, it is now "Bussy." Also, while you're taking a breath to start the next verse, she will request "Bussy" again and spin her arms.

7 - Favorite Sesame Street character: Elmo. When Elmo is in the scene on Sesame Street, she points at the TV and shouts, "Ah-mo!" It's similar to her reaction to Mary Poppins, but not quite the same level of excitement.

8 - Favorite place to go: it's a toss-up between the park, the library, and Nursery at church. The second the "Amen" is said on the closing prayer for sacrament meeting, she's pulling on our friend Beth's hand to take her to nursery. If we say we're going to the park, she runs to the front door and we have to remind her that she needs her shoes and her coat. And once at the park, she frequently takes off by herself down the street to the library, leaving whoever is watching her to catch up.

9 - Favorite article of clothing - shoes. I have no idea why she sometimes puts on only 1 shoe and goes around like that. She's done that since the summer when Mindy sent her Crocs.

10 - Favorite buddy: her Daddy.

ROSEMARY'S TOP TWO
Sleep
Eat

Seriously. She's still sleeping 20 hours a day, waking up only to eat, and then going back to sleep. She stays awake sometimes, and even for a few hours at a stretch. This last week, she's been back to sleeping all day long and pretty well through the night. She's growing FAST. At 3 months, she's of course wearing the 3-6 month size clothes, but she's at the upper end. She'll be in 12-month clothes by the summer. This actually works out quite nicely for me, because it means she can wear Summer's clothes from this past summer, and then on into the winter the same way. Even though they were born in opposite seasons, the clothing issue for handing things down will work itself out within 6 months.

I'd love to hear a Top Ten for the other kids!

We really enjoyed this list. Maybe that should be the new question - What is your top ten favorites? - no matter what age you are. I love hearing it for the kids but it would be fun to hear the adults favorite things too. I also read your post about the recipe. When are you going to add those new recipes to our page? That way we can all try them out.
