The other day, I was in the girls' room changing Rosemary's diaper and I could hear Summer in the kitchen saying in a sing-song type voice, "Ashes, ashes, down!" over and over. Of course it's ring-around-the-rosy, but I've never done it with her so she learned it in Nursery at church or from friends. She was obviously by herself since no one else was here, so I looked out the door to see what she was doing. She had a doll in each hand and was spinning around, "Ashes, ashes." Then she'd throw both dolls onto the floor, "Down!" (Not drop them, throw them.) Then she'd pick them up and do it again.
It was one of those moments where you want SO BADLY to laugh, but you can't because if the kid notices you even watching (let alone laughing), they'll stop doing whatever it is they're doing.
