Grandma's 100th Birthday
Today is a very important day. If my mother were alive she would be 100 years old. For those of you who remember her, what are some of your favorite memories of Grandma? She was a very tiny woman but she was very sweet and a hard worker. She was a true example of Christlike love. I miss my Mommy and it seems incredible that she would be 100 if she were here with us. Just thought you'd want to remember her today.
Love ya,
MOM

I think my strongest memory of her is that beehive hairdo. I remember telling her once that it looked like a beehive, and she agreed.
I didn't know this Grandma that well. However, while I was going through one of my old files I came across a note from her to me. It was very sweet. Unfortunately, I don't know where it is now.
I remember Grandma Beers in the big blue bus they lived in in California. I liked it. It seemed really really big. But that's a fuzzy memory. I remember more clearly visiting grandma and grandpa when they lived in Oregon in Tigard. We would visit them pretty often. Sunday nights maybe.
I remember watching Love Boat and the movie Carousel on their TV and the smell of menthol and those TV trays with nature scenes or sailboats on them. And I remember grandma in the tiny little kitchen, standing on her stepstool to get into the cupboards. Even as a shorter than average eight year old, I knew she was tiny.
What else? I remember how it felt when she gave me a hug. I remember that grandma loved my mom and spoke softly, and wrote letters to me about birds.
